SLM · the Bixso AI engine
One field.
One brain that can go deep.
Bixso AI is the direction: a specialist brain for each field. An SLM is the smaller model distilled from that field’s real product activity — its workflows, records, decisions, exceptions and rules — then used inside governed agentic AI.
What makes it specialist
Business first. Model last.
The model is only one layer of the solution. It earns its place after BIXSO has product evidence from the field and can state exactly what job it should do — and what it must never decide alone.
- 01
Operate real products
Start with the work itself: the people, process, data, rules, decisions and exceptions that real product activity reveals.
- 02
Distil the domain
Use validated workflows, records and examples to make a smaller model useful for one specific field and job.
- 03
Run it as Bixso AI
Place the specialist model inside governed agents with clear boundaries, evidence requirements, evaluation criteria and human accountability.
Not every problem needs one
The honest answer can be:
do not build it.
An SLM is not the default answer to an AI brief. Choosing a general model, retrieval, or no AI at all can be the right business decision.
- The task is genuinely broad or open-ended.
- There is no clean domain data, and no responsible way to obtain it.
- Rules change faster than the model can be evaluated and updated.
- The volume is too low for a specialist model to be the sensible choice.
Developing in the open
Show the work.
Not the theatre.
SLM is the engine behind the Bixso AI moat, not a blanket claim that every field brain is already mature. As evidence is ready, we will share the problem, evaluation criteria, what worked and what did not.
We will not publish customer data, private model weights, internal prompts or unverified results.
Questions
SLM, answered straight.
- 01What is an SLM?
- An SLM is a small language model specialised for one domain. At BIXSO, it is grounded in the domain’s real product workflows, data, decisions and rules before it is used inside a governed Bixso AI agent.
- 02How does this relate to Bixso AI?
- Bixso AI is the domain-brain direction. Each field can have its own specialist brain, distilled from product activity and then used by governed agents inside that field.
- 03Is an SLM just a generic chatbot with a longer prompt?
- No. Prompts can guide a general model, but they do not replace a domain model, curated examples, evaluation against a real job, or governance. The specialist work happens before the agent is allowed to act.
- 04Does every business need an SLM?
- No. A general model or retrieval can be a better fit when the task is broad, the facts change rapidly, the data is not ready, or demand is low. The analysis should decide the architecture — not the hype.
- 05What does “developing in the open” mean?
- BIXSO will share the business problem, evaluation criteria and verified learning as they are ready. We do not publish customer data, private model weights, internal prompts or unverified performance claims.
